Since forming on the West side of Montreal in 2006, Line Spectra's indie-rock grooves and addictive hooks have warmed the hearts of many. Kathy Perlini, Diana Lalla and Vanessa Morelli make up the power trio, who burst onto the Montreal music scene with their first, independently released, self-titled EP in 2007. The band is as known for their melodic, energetic, and eclectic songs as their infectious bubbly personalities.
After the release of the self-titled EP, Line Spectra went to work on the full-length follow-up, "Maps & Directions". The album, released January 2010, comes at a pivotal point in the life of the band; writing and recording was balanced with graduating from university and working to fund the album.
"Maps & Directions", written and produced by Line Spectra, was recorded and mixed at Mountain City Studio by Joseph Donovan (Sam Roberts, The Dears) and mastered at Lacquer Channel by Noah Mintz (Broken Social Scene, Stars).
Line Spectra was recently featured on CTV News' segment "What's On With Christine Long". They were also heard on CHOM 97.7's "Montreal Rocks With Jay Walker", as well as radio stations K-103.7 Kanawake and 94.7 HITS FM's "Local Music Segment With Java Joel". Line Spectra is a band that loves to give back and support the community, and have done so by participating in several benefit shows which have helped raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada and Dreams Take Flight - a charity that provides trips to Disney World for children with special needs.
